Accessibility
Workspaces, public spaces, products and information presentation need to be designed to incorporate the needs of increasingly diverse groups of users. As the population ages and society seeks to be universally inclusive -a desire formalised by the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) - there is an increasing need to understand the varying requirements of those with mobility, visual and auditory impairments; users with learning difficulties and older people.
What do we do?
At CCD, we have a deep understanding of these issues, which enables us to help our clients to design accessible and inclusive environments.
We use our ergonomics-led service to support and advise our own designers working on projects. We are aware of the need to demonstrate that our designs meet the needs of all target users and also, importantly, that they comply with regulations such as DDA.
In addition, we undertake specific research projects on behalf of our clients to investigate how a particular change to an environment, space or product will impact
