Environmental
CCD is committed to minimising the impact of company activities on the environment. It is our policy to put this into practice by:
- Paying particular attention to all relevant legislation, regulations and government guidance
- Meeting industry code of practice wherever possible
- Ensure that all employees know and understand the policy and what is expected of them
- Make efficient use of natural resources by minimising waste and conserving energy
- All office lights are to be switched off at the end of the working day
- All company computer equipment (i.e. PCs, laptops, printers, scanners) are to be switched off at the end of the working day and not left on standby
- All IT equipment is disposed of in accordance with EU regulations.
- Seek to use the most environmentally efficient means of transport
- Recycle all paper products in the office and encourage home workers to recycle through local schemes
- Ensure all suppliers and subcontractors are aware of our policy
CCD has policies and procedures in place to reduce the use of natural resources by our office including power saving measures and a full recycling programme in collaboration with Paper Round.
In delivering our services we are committed to minimising environmental impact. For example, all consultants make maximum use of public transport both in commuting to the office and in our frequent travel to customer sites. We operate a policy of not taking short haul flights within the UK and to near-European destinations but using rail.
CCD is committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2012 and is currently reviewing the implementation of a formal environmental management system, under ISO 14001, to support the delivery of this target.
