Interior Design

Successful interior design turns a building into a space that works - in every sense of the phrase. This means space that helps you develop your business and improve your bottom line by keeping overheads down, increasing efficiency, making your staff feel and perform better, and impressing clients.

The aesthetic of the workplace should support the operational activities being conducted within it. Colours, textures and materials should be selected to provide a pleasant working environment and a calming backdrop to the tasks being undertaken.

Managing noise is important too, as noise can contribute to annoyance, stress, loss of concentration and lower staff performance. The sound absorption and the sound diffusion performances of finishes and products that are specified for walls, ceilings and floors should be carefully evaluated to avoid acoustic anomalies within the occupied space such as a long reverberation time or the occurrence of echoes.

The colour arrangement and the colour rendering of lamps and their spectral distribution of light can influence the recognition of coloured information, promote the ability to concentrate, prevent deterioration in performance, reduce errors and relax stress situations. In addition they can assist in accident prevention by correct rendering of safety and signal colours.

What do we do?

CCD has an in-house consultancy team qualified in interior design, architecture, furniture design, ergonomics and psychology. We also associates with expertise in acoustics and lighting.

We work closely with the mechanical and electrical engineers for each project so that the services are fully integrated into the fabric of the design to maximise the aesthetic potential of the space. This integrated approach can, for instance, increase ceiling heights in existing buildings that are being refurbished and provide dramatic improvements in lighting.

At CCD, we approach each project with an open mind and a broad perspective. Creativity and innovation - the key to fresh and telling design - need as free a reign as possible. However, we know they need to be measured and tested against proven criteria, not least those generated by a comprehensive understanding of your needs and objectives.
