Psychology of the Built Environment
People respond to their working environment in many different ways - their psychological response will affect their experience of the space in emotional response, behaviour, motivation, aesthetics, and their perception of values such as desirability, professionalism, quality, etc. It will also influence their physical performance in terms of vigilance, attention, fatigue, information management and workload. In designing an effective work space that meets the goals and objectives of a brief, this behavioural interaction needs to be understood.
What do we do?
CCD's design process incorporates an understanding of these softer and subjective objectives for a project. In particular when it comes to the aesthetic values of a space we are often needing to address both how it will influence those working there and the corporate statement that the space needs to make. All of these need to be understood at the outset.
CCD's Psychologists and Ergonomists work alongside our Architects and Interior Designers to assess the impact of the design solutions on human behaviour and user experience.
